The importance of ornamental industry has been realized throughout the world and today flower cultivation has developed into an intensive form of agriculture. On commercial basis flower business is gradually developing its roots with improved transport facilities, introduction of improved varieties and increase in local demand. However, lack of agro technological knowhow of cultivation of commercially important annuals, bulbous and cut flowers on commercial scale among growers has been observed as a big constraint in development of commercial floriculture.
