In the beginning of the undergraduate degree, the basic knowledge about the subjects as Agronomy, Plant
Science, Horticulture, Soil Science, Soil Chemistry and Agro-meteorology is essential for better
understanding of the respective subjects. Therefore, compiled the information in this Practical Manual
related to selection of crop, selection of varieties, cropping sequence, land preparation for sowing crop,
sowing time, method of planting, quantity of seed, water management, weed management, fertilizer
management, harvesting and threshing of crops. To familiar the students with agronomic, horticulture
practices and aspects of plant science, soil science, soil chemistry, agro meteorology and also use of tools,
implements and equipment used in crop production and field management to raise the successful crops.
This practical manual will help the students of B.Sc. Agriculture to understand the practical parts of
various subjects mentioned above in better ways.
