The present volume (Volume-8) of the Book Series ‘Advances in Fish Research’ is the latest one in the Series. The focus of this volume, as the name indicates, is inland aquatic ecosystem health and the issues involved, viz. Aquatic Ecosystem Health Assessment, Impacts of Contaminants (EDCs and emerging contaminants) on Ecosystem Health, Fisheries Restoration and Management and finally the Tools and Technologies for Aquatic Resource Management. Thus, this volume has ‘One Health’ concept in the backdrop as at this point of time when one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Goal #2, Zero hunger by 2030 targets food and nutritional security and zero hunger by 2030, the aquatic food systems have become a top priority and fish is understood to be a superfood. Aquatic ecosystem health assumes top priority as it is habitat for the aquatic animals including fish and to ensure quality fish food that is safe for humans, this ecosystem must be contamination free, health assessment needs to be routinely conducted, fisheries restoration needs to be planned in impacted ecosystems by using tools and technologies for aquatic resource management.
